Looking good John. One thong though, that blood is a bit red....I might just by my screen. It might also get toned down a bit when you are finished. I'll stop meddling, you know what you are doing.....

Hi Ian Thanks for the comment,

I will be toning it down by the time it's fin, i have just started to fix all the pits & bobs to the figure but i seem to have a small snag, as he is not carring the MG45 where do i put all the other bits ?,

I asume he will not need the MG pouch so i can put a ammo pouch in its place, so where dose the other one go, do i remove the pistol and put it there, where do i put the granade ??.

      How dose this look ??.

Looking good John , I agree with Ian about the blood colour but as you have said he is still under construction , just a suggestion but I would touch in the red areas with a darkened down tamiya clear red and then gently flick with a brush the surrounding areas as to show some blood splatter , Ray the sprayman has experimented making blood look real and he has come up with some superb results if he reads this maybe he can give you a few tips,

l like this one and watching with interest mate

          Thanks Richy'

glad you like, at times i think that meybe i've bitten off more than i can chew for my first effort, i tend to go in with both feet & work it out as i go.

sometimes what i'm thinking of far exceeds my skill level, making models i dont have a prob with been doing it since i was 5 am now 53 it's all new to me this wethering & Dio's.

Ok all time to put this one to bed, did a bit of remodeling and a re-think, decided to put him on a small base & heal his wounds except a battle scare on his forhead, this is the best i can do at my skill level hope you like.

                Not at all bad John.

I was wondering what had happened with this one. Some times my browser does not show the new post flags, others I just miss.

It is a shame that you scaled down the diorama to a single figure but you know your limitations and that is a good thing. The figure looks good and the altered pose worked well. I still don't have the nerve to chop up a figure in that scale!

If you feel that your painting skills are not where you would like them to be, I can recommend a visit to 'the forum shop' John has a few great guides in both book and DVD form. DVD - Painting & Finishing Miltary Figures Rob Henden Tutorial DVD VID-DCF069 - ScaleModelShop might be of particular interest as it would seam that you are drawn to figures.

For a first attempt is very good.

This is not bad John the pose looks good but if i may make an observation try adding a black or brown wash to his helmet and equipment and follow this up by dry brushing the raised creases on his coat. All together not bad at all mate keep up the good work.
