    Concrete

    Hi all

I am going to attempt to paint a 1/35 french village fountain from FoG models. I was going to base it on an article I seen in a particular modelling magazine. The person doing the article mentioned using Vallejo Dark Yellow as the base then Vallejo US Light Grey for the highlights and Vallejo Hemp for the shadows before a final overspray of dark yellow to tie it in.

This type of colouration is more for a stone block well than a foutain which when I checked the picture on the front of the box is concrete which in places has fallen away to reveal the bricks. The model is plaster cast and the detail is excellent. I am unsure whether to plough on with the above colours or, if anyone knows what type of "concrete" greys to use instead, to go with that. All advice is much appreciated.

I have already purchased one of the Lifecolor Easy 3 to give the foutain that grubby green, damp look.

Hi Neill, all manner of greys could be used, I would be tempted to mix my own, lighter shades then do some sponge work to texture it down.

Hi Neill, I used Railmatch enamel 442 "Concrete" for my airfield display base with good results.variations. Cabe made by adding white or black etc. Railmatch also do acrylic paints too in jars or sppray cans.
