Hi all had a go at weathering some of the superstructure (never weathered a ship before) is this enough or should I go further ?

You do not want to weather RN ships too much. Looking at pictures of RN ships the weathering seems more on the dirty side with a smattering of rust by the anchors, but what you have done looks good.

looking good Ken, do like it,

maybe you could give it a couple of washes with a lite rust, just to get in the nooks and crannies

        that pe work is superb,

Thanks Graham and Moni appreciate the comments, still not keen on PE though but it does improve the kit.

it is looking well Ken , as Graham says you don't want to overkill with the weathering ,anchor chains and chain slips is were I would put any rust , it is looking very atmospheric .

Hi guys and gals just a quick question, re the aircraft guns at 1/350 would the damage they do to the deck of the Warspite be noticeable, if so how much damage would they do (I assume apart from removing a bit of paint they wouldn't do any damage to the superstructure) if the damage did show, on a run along the deck of the ship how far apart would the hits be.

Ps anyone got any ideas how I can do the markings for the German 1/350 planes I have tried painting them on but they are too small for me to paint freehand and if I print them on transfer paper they are too transparent and the camo shows through.

This is looking awesome Ken, really good work. A RN ship is dirty-ish with any rust cleaned and re-painted ASAP, not always in original colours at it depends what the ships shop had in at the time. Top work mate!

Just highlight using a fine black pen that will suffice.

I have to agree that PE for the Warspite and any other ship at this scale is very fiddly. The main mast with the photo etch that came with the kit has about 32 parts

hi Ken thats a very good questgen,I think it would show very slightly, and to add to detail,

maybe just use a very small dot of paint in a difference color ,to highlight the hit and maybe about 5mm apart,

use a lite gray on the steel and a liter wood color on the deck
