Hi Scottie, Jim R and Steven, thanks.
I use this dried plant from the florist. Don't know what it's called and is a far cry from pine needles which I need to coat with finely cut hemp rope to simulate that. What it does is give a believable structure of a pine branch to work with.

ID:	1245369 These are dried just before they open and bloom so there are two types the other has open petals.
Check out your local florist or it could be growing in your woods...looks like some form of heather or lavender buds.

          Cheers,
          Wabble

Thanks mate. I have used dried asparagus ferns in the past. But they do look good.

Hi Scottie, I have tried asparagus ferns in the past but find them too delicate and flat without enough body.
Anyway assembling my trees need a set of instructions by the looks of it...

ID:	1245598 Each group has five branches and they have their aloted sizes for each tier. Not so fun part of making the Dio.

Thanks Richard, hope you got some warm pullovers as it's going to be quite chilly once I start adding snow.

                  Cheers,

Tedious but needs to be done.

Those trees look very realistic. As you are very experienced in making monkeys I'm sure a squirrel or two would be well within your capabilities

You're welcome Steve, glad you're getting something out of it.

Jim, the monkeys were an experiment and lucky to have turned out respectable. After sculpting 16 of those I thought of giving animals a break or I'd go loony. Squirrels would be a good idea but wouldn't they be hibernating? Perhaps a ferret?

                                Cheers,
