I am having real problems with some old Tamiya decals. practising with the spare ones they are a nightmare to get off in one piece and just fall to bits. I think they need wetted and left for maybe 10 mins as that's when they actually seem to slide. I think I need to try and get another set.

i maybe wrong with this, but i have done before is give the decals a couple of coats of matt clear, let dry,

just over the surface of the decal,

then use just a few drops of water in a small dish, that will sock up from the bottom, through the paper maybe takes a little longer,

just do a test to see if the decal will slip about, and if so ,then should be find to slid into place,

        hope this is some help,

Cheers Steve much appreciated iam glad you like them, not sure how many I will need yet, but I will say that they are easier to make than I thought and was wondering if anyone would find a tutorial useful from start to finish?

couldn't you scan the originals into your computer then print them onto blank transfer paper available on ebay

Hi Dave with the decals you probably could but I have no idea on how to do it, or even if my printer is able to.

The trees look great and yes do do a tree tutorial step by step. I'm sure others will also find it useful.

As for the decals. It's just like printing a picture. Which type of printer do you have?

Well next time you order from sms buy some decal paper. Just a couple of sheets of clear and white, you can also get a fixer solution, but you can get away with acrylic varnish..

If the decal has white in it, use the White film, if not use the clear one. Give it a bash, you might like it
