I started the farm dwelling last night and have just finished it (I think!)
Here are the pictures.
I thought that more thatch would be too much, so I went for a mixture of corrugated tin and a sort of felty / tar thing for the wooden extension.

I tried cocktail sticks stuck together to scribe the roof, but they were too big for 1/72. I ended up just using some kitchen foil and scribing lines on it. Then using various colours just washed it over and let the paint go where it chose to go.....I then lifted some sheet edges here and there.

Here is a closer shot of the wood effect on the extension. The imperfections in the polystyrene pizza bases are enough to give a nice wood effect when painted.

I am undecided whether to damage this building or not as it would have been behind the Tiger when the tank and barn were hit....I have glazed one window and not the one nearest the 'hit', thinking that at worse the glass would have been blown out...
That's it for the buildings - up to now at least.
I hope you approve of this second 1/72 building and thanks for looking in.

Wow your a fast worker Ron, your dios are always so realistic, especially that corrugated roof. A question please, when you did your Tank camo, do you use masking tap or do you do it free hand? DerekComment

Thanks Derek, remember though that the four walls were done, so it just needed a roof, door and windows and of course painting, so not that much to do to finish it really.....
The only times I've used masking tape were the straight lines on a Bf 109 wings, and as you will know, the boot toppings on marine stuff.
That's the beauty of brush painting....Virtually no masking required.
Thanks for your interest and question.

Thanks Monica, I'm well pleased how the tin roof turned out. I'm still pondering whether or not to do some damage to this building.......I don't really think it needs it. Any thoughts?Comment

I think i dose need a little bit of damage as how its placed close to the barn,
it would have a little bit to the roof, wall and window,as you have done broken, window,
just lif the edge of the roof a little were the two join,as the end of the barn would stop
most of the blast, with mirror damage to to the house, but you could just leave as is is fine as well,Comment
