Talking of germans helping allied soldiers, I had an extremely interesting chat to a fellow aussie at an airport. He was half german, and his father was a Waffen SS Kommandant. His father was in the defence of the reich ops in 1944-1945 and during a gunfight, he heard a wounded, and expecting the individual to be a German to be a German, he went over, to only find it was actually a Brit. He patched him up at the field hsopital and sent him back to the allied lines with a white flag for a ceasefire. It turns out that the "brit" was an Australian living in the UK. Anyway, after the war, he migrated to Australia via funding of his grateful enemy after the war, and started off new in Australia. When I asked te chap what his father's name was however, he refused to tell me-one can only speculate

I've heard lots of stories from old soldiers about this and it makes you think how many ss were actually into the ideology

In the book a bridge too far it goes into a bit of detail about this from both sides , it's a great book and makes the film look like half hour soap

I met a Luftwaffe pilot about 20 years ago at a BoB Memorial Day , he was shot down over Kent in 1940 , spent the rest of the war in Canada, he said at first it was a great honou to fight for his country but he soon realised it was no honour, that's all he said , I never pressed him over it

While I'm waiting for the paint to dry on my figures I thought I'd start the kuble

I found some useable red crosses from the airfix RAF ambulance kit I can use

Cheers guys and gal I please your enjoying it

First parts of the kuble , it's a better detailed kit than the italeri release and it's pretty much the same price range only about a £ or so difference

Cheers moni I'm pleased your liking it

This is a very good kit with very little work needed on the parts

                            Front wheels

                            rear wheels

                            now some sort of guard

                            and the complete underside

I like the way they engineered the wheel routes as it gives you the chance to turn the wheels without cutting or bending the axel

                                Cheers moni

I just noticed I got ahead of myself, the section above is further along in the instructions, I had the page folded wrong

So here is where I should at the point , the interior

                                and all put together

this is now balanced on my inhaler so I don't bend the wheels out of shape
