    "Battle Of Berlin"

Using ancient base (stripped) and previously built tanks I will attempt to re-create a scene from the horrendous
    and tragic "Battle Of Berlin".

Will need to take a drive (2hrs) to one of our bigger towns along the Hudson River to visit a real hobby shop for some Russian assault troops or infantry in battle and general knick knacks and supplies.
Plus treat the Missus to a nice dinner and cocktails

This one will take a while as I never rush, I won't bore with too numerous updates.
There will be some pitifully displayed German dead and a shell shock victim and maybe a wrecked German vehicle but I don't like to crowd...we'll see.

    Thanks for looking....Jim

Jim, that really is a credit to you. A diorama brings model making to a whole new level and skill set in my opinion.
I havnt had a go at a diorama as yet basically because I cant get my head around how to start.

I will follow this build with interest Jim

Thank you Alan, I do always seem to have a dio on the burner, have posted many. As far as starting my advice is ...get started. You can't picture it all at once
so don't try, latch on to a theme, (small and simple at first) and let it flow. Soon you'll be sailing along fine.......Jim

                UPDATE.....

Roughing in lay out (very roughops
Some old recycled characters to be used, (waste not want not). They will be totally re-done to current standards as they are quite old.

This one will be a long haul as I always try to be as authentic as possible with what limited resources are at my disposal.
Scene coming together in my head of vicious and remorseless advancing Russian troops of dubious character coming upon the shattered remnants of a block defense unit, broken, defenseless and
demoralized, awaiting either brutal imprisonment or "Stalin's Ration"... 3 grams of lead.... Not caring which....... What will be their fate!?.....Only God knows.

Haven't settled on Rooskies yet, will figure that out on trip to hobby shop next month, but in the mean time plenty of work to do on other aspects for sure

                Jim

Thanks Si, it's funny how things just strike me and I take a thirty plus year old dio " Crocodile Rocks" and just strip it down and begin a new and improved project.
Why not? it's a great space saving practice and besides I'm doing a revamp of my displays with a new A list top shelf collection of recently done projects.

                    What happened to croc?

Bit more done, springtime so very busy but finding a little time to do some work......

Got rid of plastic ruined corner and made up my own from foam board because I could not create realistic enough damage to plastic imo without it becoming a fiasco.
Story is as goes only I included a surrendering " Hitler Youth" bedraggled and wounded begging mercy from Rooskies..... (good luck with thatops

Will create torn and tattered 'uniform' for youngster and or some bloody bandages and or waving some sort of whitish cloth in a surrendering gestureo_O
Used a smallish figure and shaved his head down so helmet seems too large for his young head.

Oh, have just found out how to adjust my pics on the computer (thanks to the Missus)...even b&w!
She said "I thought you knew all about this with all your pic taking and fiddling on your site"

                      I was flabbergasted!
A great tool that has put a whole new slant on things (translation...even more boring pics from Jimops:ops:

Wow, this is right up your street Jim, these were, indeed, the darkest of days, and if half of what we are led to believe here happened, then it's still unthinkable, and beyond most folk's comprehension. However, I suspect that you are the man for the job of depicting a snapshot of this horror. Looking forward to it!

Looking superb, I just wish you put as much thought into the drill(it's so out of scale) and to be honest it doesn't make much sense in the dio.
