Morning John
Sun is still shining here. Have to split my time between the bench and the garden. Look forward to the figures populating this great dio.

Jim .
Like wise, 30 mins in the garden , then back in to the bench, next coat on , back into garden . :hugging-face:
Right .
Weapons and kit all added, touch up where required, still think this is the best way for me to contend with painting every thing else except where I want to be:sad: The ammo boxes had no handles, and didn't look right just stuck on to the hand, so two handles made with thin copper wire. Glued into place , allowed to dry then the centers cut out and then the box glued to the hand. Look fine to me .
Rifle straps made from folded Tamiya tape and cut as thin as I could manage in width.
So with out more ado .
The odd figures with a gloss look are the ones I did with an oil wash , next is to give them a coat of AK Ultra Mat varnish and then do some decals on the helmets.
Comments welcome, thanks for staying with this. Not long until they can all be fixed along with Peter Days fine group.
John.

Hi John,
Looking great John, judging by the outcome your getting to grips with painting the chaps:thumb2:
If a may suggest, get yer decals on before a Matt coat goes.

Nice done sir...keep it up!

Looking awesome John, I can already see them populating your impressive diorama. The shades and highlights on the uniforms make them really stand out, Great work mate.

Hi John,

quite a cast you have there :thumb2:

Is it just the photo - the water bottles look a bit orange rather than brown?

Coming on super nice... keep up...l can’t wait to see them with the vehicles in the diorama....:nerd::nerd:.... and i agree with Simon T... do ( if l may say so ) a little brown/black wash on the water bottles to eliminate that « orangie » look... :smiling3::smiling3::smiling3:

Morning John
They look great. Well done with the rifle straps - most fiddly. These will really raise the dio to a new level. If you do matt down over the oil wash make certain the oil is completely dry. Oils take longer than you think to dry. They look dry and are dry to the touch but still need a bit longer. The acrylic varnish coat does not go on well - guess how I know :rolling:
Nearly the end of a long journey.
Jim

Morning stalwart followers.:thumb2:
Ev...........Thank you, I'd rather do a massive building any day than figures ! Felt I needed to try this time.
Simon.......... Thank you for that photo, I shall make adjustments forthwith.Today if not sooner !!!
Greg .....You may indeed :hungry:they do rather look rather bright. In fact it was an AK. Rust ! Should have got the colour wheel out.:hungry:.
Jim ........Morning to you. Felt the straps were needed along with those handles. Fiddley is indeed the word. Cutting the the width was particularly awkward as the tape kept sliding under the rule. Of course I realise I should have stuck the ends down !
Not long indeed, its been a long build, some parts I have really enjoyed, others not so .:worried:
Thanks for staying with me on this ,its really appreciated.
John .

The figures look great John. Very well done. Once again, your dedication and hard work have paid off in spades.

Peter.
