    Paul, I Know what you mean. That turret crane looks the mother to build! Never bought one for that reason alone. Nice load in the trailer although the loft is a bit bare...some straw and a couple of chickens perhaps...the ones with feathers! :tongue-out2:

      Chickens eaten long ago. Was trying to find info on baled hay/straw in the area/period. Were they square, rectangle, cylinder, dimensions? Hollywood not a good source. Not knowing a blacksmith I'm guessing scrap iron or other raw materials & seconds may be stored there. PaulE

        I'd have thought the straw would have been stacked at first
        like this until thrashed, then stored in a large straw or hay stack, or shed like this. This next photo is from a German farming museum.

        Ones in the open were stored in the open , just a large round one as this one I found.


        Gives you a rough idea of the size. HTH
