Cheers chaps... very much appreciated.... Andy, I do take your point regarding contrast in the puddles so I added the final layer in a lighter shade....finally a few leaves and some papers which need a bit of “dirtying”...

Great stuff Jason. The edition of the sheets of papers really works and is so you. Like the birch seed leaves as well - I managed to collect a pocketful this year.

              Jason,
The contrast with the puddles looks good and the bits of paper add interest.

Thanks Scottie, I think Andy suggestion re the puddles has been an improvement

Thanks Peter.. you’re right I have used the bits of paper flying around in a few of my models... I think the inspiration came from this scene in the film “Downfall”...although I won’t be adding this many sheets!

Apologies for being behind on this. Loving the figure and the base really is something else. How did you find the Vallejo water texture to work with? What's the drying time like in it?

                  Again, very well done

                      Hi Andrew,
the water texture was surprisingly easy... there's a quick tutorial on u tube but basically you just add a drop of paint for the desired colour and then apply... I dabbed it on with a coffee stirrer and then use gravity to get it to settle where you want to... I was only using a relatively small amount so the drying time was pretty quick... maybe an hour or so... I will definitely find an excuse to use it again at some point!

Cheers Steve... looks like I might be getting near to finished on this one?
                      Thanks
                      Jason,.

                          Jason,
I too like the puddle contrast now and paper. It works very well! It's going to be a great little diorama.
One other little tip... I can't see if you have, but it works really well if you dry-brush over some of the wet soil, giving a bit of contrast between between the higher soil, which will be dryer than the damp soil below.
                          Andy

If anyone needs Birch seed pods then my garden is littered with millions of them. You can have as many as you want and it will save me clearing them up!!

My only advice is be careful of the depth per of layer of water. In your case maybe not a problem this time . I say this from doing a ditch, it took several layers and days at 1 mm per application.

That is superb> The puddles, the leaves and the papers - just the icing on the cake.
