    Hi all
    Thanks Ron...glad you like it.
Thanks Andy... I’ve taken your advice and having woken to a blanket of frost over the last couple of days I dry brushed some white in there as well ...particularly on the grass.
Thanks John... I thought fire rather than water was your thing.?
Cheers Jim... I’m slowly getting there!

anyway an awfully large package arrived From Russia today containing a very small set of replacement arms for the German figure... Many thanks to the people at Stalingrad Miniatures for sending it out completely free!!!

at least now I can get on with finishing the figure... as mentioned above I have tweaked the base slightly to make it look a little colder and there’s still work to do on the Jeep ... particularly the tyres.

      Hi all,
I haven’t posted any progress on this for a while having got distracted with a couple of other projects...
However I have just about finished with the weathering on the jeep...

It did feel as though it needed something in the jeep other than just the driver so I’ve decided to add a couple of things making the driver a “scrounger” trading goods for souvenirs....
First up is a crate of beers,

it was almost impossible to get the crate handles off the sprue without snapping them so I finally ended up making my own from wire...

                Cheers chaps... very much appreciated!
I seem to be developing my own little sub plot here as an excuse for not finishing off the main setting...
At the moment there’s a trade going on for a Luger...current price is stuck on 3 beers...looks like somebody’s getting a bargain...or I need to add a few more beers!,!!

ok ok... I’ll go to 5 beers ...but that’s my best offer...take it or leave it!

make it six and you got a deal!

I can’t do six...all the others are glued in the crate and the carpet monster got the last one I had!!!!

Thanks Peter...back in my school days all my teachers seemed to have me down as “easily distracted”... my response was “well there’s always more than one thing going on!”
                      Thanks

I was hoping to get this finished today but I woke up first thing this morning to the sound of running water and when I opened the curtains there was torrents if water heading our way!
We managed to build an impromptu dam and diverted the water away from the house towards a drain... didn’t manage to completely save the cellar though... spent the rest of the day reenforcing the dam once the rain eased off
Oh well there’s always tomorrow Click image for larger version

Not much of a dam but it did the trick!

After a week of re-enforcing my flood defences I finally got a bit of time to get this almost finished!

just got to finish the repairs to the surrendering German and then try to make sure that the eyes line up so that the Americans are looking at him ..giving him the hard stare for interrupting their trading!

Hope your basement has dried out, and that Dennis doesn't cause any more flooding.
