Apparently Willys made it that way so you can’t blame Elvis for this one...I think this particular model was called “the Surrey”!

They were very popular in Hawaii in the late 50's, early 60's. If memory serves, also available in a bright turquoise and a real laser beam of a yellow. There may have been other bright colors available but I can't recall them now. Might have to rewatch the movie Elvis made in Hawaii...ah the memories. Rick H.

Hi all, quite a productive day by my standards...one model completed and a bit of work done on this one (with the emphasis on “a bit”)...
Just managed to complete the jeep drivers head who is supposed to be returning the surrendering Germans nervous look with a hard stare...all this modelling in one day ... I don’t know how Peter does it.... I need a lie down!!!

            Hi all,
Figure number 2, the Jeep driver is about done... just got to line it up so he is looking at the surrendering German.

Here’s the driver in position...there’s still more work to do on the jeep..especially the tires but I want to get the base something like before doing the weathering
              Thanks

                Hi Jason
Figures are excellent. That driver looks so natural.

Hi...sorry if this confuses anyone but I took up Ian’s offer to rename the thread as we seemed to have move away from just the
                  Jeep!
                  Many thanks

                      Jason,
That is a great looking figure I would be very happy to achieve that.

Stunning work Jason. Totally confused with change in title as I was trying to find the original thread to see how you were doing. Got there in the end and it was worth all the hassle to catch up with your build. Figure or jeep, its quality work from start to finish. Looking forward to seeing the German on the base as well.

                          Hi all,
Thanks for your supportive comments and thanks for bearing with me on the change of the threads title...I did start this out as just building the Jeep but other ideas developed as I went along... I didn't really anticipate that setting out the figures on the base would be so difficult but I wanted the Americans to be staring at the German whilst the German gives a sideways glance...so I'm stuck with the directions the eyes are facing which wasn't my original layout...( there's no way I'm going to try to change the direction of the eyes!!!).... making a start on the third figure so I'm trying to plot his position out before painting the face but time will tell on that one.... hopefully should post more pics soon!
                          Thanks
                          Jason.
