Ya with FB there's the neverending scrolling and still can't find what you're looking for. :tongue-out2:

Just had a quick catch-up Richard. Love what you've done so far.

Hi, I've been stuck for a while when I read that Fireflies didn't have applique armor because of the way they stowed their shells. But I remembered seeing a picture of one VC with it including the plate in front of the driver and co-drivers station. This occurred when I was about to add the cheek applique to the turret. After scouring my references I found the pic. But there is no evidence of the cheek applique. Then I realised I had puttied over what apparently is a rare resin direct vision version of the early Sherman from Verlinden....der. Anyway I wanted this for the Firefly.

It’s small additions like that which lift a build out of the ordinary....

Thanks Tim, and references to keep me abreast with my forgetfulness why I did it that way in the first place. Here's the pic...

It's from Concord Armor at War Series British Tanks of WWII (1) by Davud Fletcher.

17 pounders were prolly too long to store in the turret. Wet storage in later marks deleted applique on the sides.

Thanks for that Paul, it makes sense and sorry for the late reply. Haven't had bench time since we rescued another 6 kittens.

The resin kit came wit applique side armour so I figure that would stay as an older mark hull being re-used. The turret won't have the applique added then.

                    Cheers,
                    Richard

Hi, just had a little bench time to do a bit of composition of the tank figures...

The figures are from single sprue bubble packs that Tamiya occasionally output.

Basically I may be positioning these two like these...the squatting figure will be passing a cuppa to his mate while the one in front is looking at the kids and leaning on the transmission hub.
