Thank you Steve, had loads of fun today after yesterday's fiasco doing that Hobby Boss.

A change is as good as a rest it is said, and how right that is. This morning and most of the late afternoon I spent painting the sets on the base, then dry brushing the wall brickwork. Now drying overnight for the next stage. The brick work will have a white / grey pigment to represent the mortar brushed over it. Once that is done them begins the individual brick painting with a selection of brick colours.

          Hi John
This is coming on a treat. The walls and the cobbled area are spot on. Interesting method for modelling water.

Thanks Jim, yes I saw it and thought that might just work for me on this build. Suppose the colours will make it and the varnish.

Thanks Neil, been thinking of doing a pigment wash with a little PVA in to tone it down, what do you think ?

I'm flattered that you ask, and I hadn't thought of it, but as you mention it I do think it would be a good idea

Just had a catch up John. Great building work, especially the cobbles. Love the colour variation. The water technique looks interesting so it will be good to see where it goes next!

Busy day to day, work was carried out on both the base and building.
                                Base first.

                                Base as it was.

IPA sprayed liberally to surface to break surface tension of the mix.

Once the whole area is covered a gentle wipe over with a pad to just remove any surface mix, resulting in this .

This was taken several minutes after being done, its now drying over night, looking ok.

After the mornings work on the base it was the turn of the walls.

Grey pigment scattered over all surfaces.

Followed by rubbing in with finger and brush in both vertical and horizontal lines.

After wiping the surface with a slightly damp cloth the surplus pigment is wiped away.
