Fantastic Greg. :thumb2: I like your painting style with the highlights in the right places. Strong but good for this scale in a dio with many figures.
I don't know if you've tried this but see if you can simulate freshly stirred earth against dried surface soil. I think it boils down to adding diluted PVA or white glue to craters or any upturned soil to create tones to the groundwork. You've got the colors right for hilly terrain with dark earth...red earth is usually found in lower country sides where clay forms closer to the river tributaries and deltas.
If I'm saying too much just ignore me, I get enthusiastic when I see a good dio forming.

You mean you managed to put the Senior Officers in the trench as well?...jokes aside I saw the brass. You can make them stand out with a little artistic license and give a pin wash in certain spots.
Great shots Greg. Lozadas pose very natural and with purpose...most would have sculpted the head looking down the barrel.
