A very nice gathering of like minded folks. Great posts too!

Personally, I wouldn't burn the plastic, as I do with some wooden model structures, because it just bubbles and melts and doesn't look right. So just bent, it will have to stay.

When model making this sort of stuff, I rarely look at images, but prefer to 'Do my own thing'. I've found in the past, trying to copy summat stops the free flow of ideas and I get bogged down.

Here is the start. With a Stanley Knife (Other maiming devices are available) I separated all the hatches and anything that looked like it was just bolted on. I re-positioned the hatches in the open position.

Using just snips and pliers, I've snipped off and bent the plastic around the area where the A.P. round hit. Then I brush painted the Panzer in D.A.K. colours (Approx.!)

This side will remain virtually untouched, as regards damage.

Sorry, wrong size pictures above. Far too big for my liking!

I needed something to fill the void, which was left after I removed the various forward hinged bits and other stuff.

I used a short length of drinking straw glued in, to look summat like a transmission thingy. I then just filled the space up with bent odds and sods from my spares bag. Plus the odd bit of foam board off cuts.

I thought German stuff was reliable

That will need more than the AA ( other are availble )

            Lovely Ron, well knackered!

Si. Like most things in life, until you try, you don't know if you can or can't do something.

Thanks Bob. I'm chuffed you approve of the wrecking thus far.

....and thank you both for your support.

Nice wreaking 570, loving the use of the off cuts and other rubbish in the hole !
Still a shame you haven't done a Stug :nerd:

                  Cheers Joe!
I have a couple of Stugs doing nothing except gathering dust in my loft so,........

No one will have noticed, but the thread title has changed to include 'A Trilogy'. During the destruction process, I've come up with a master plan.

Rather, than me having destroyed a tank for the sake of just one diorama, I will use the model for three. The N. African Desert, Western Europe and Russia. These three locations will hopefully give me plenty of scope for extracting the maximum fun I can possibly squeeze out of the kit's supreme sacrifice! Also, it's a great opportunity to try and paint the model to suit the three differing climates and conditions.

Obviously, as the tank will be the same wreck, the last two dioramas will eventually go straight into ' Dioramas Completed' and will have no build thread.

I commend the idea to 'The House'

                  Boris

Glad my idea has passed its first reading.
With the blessings of the 'House', I've completed the first wreck of the trilogy - N. Africa.
Here's one photo from the finished offering.....

I'll post the remainder in 'Dioramas Completed' asap.

Thank you for all the support, suggestions and all the mighty fine banter my good friends posted along the way.

                                Cheers,
