Nope. It's a lichen i find growing on Birch/Rowan trees around here. Just dry it out, pull it apart and take the little bits you need

Some leaves added to the bramble stems. Might have to make some more of these. I like them

Cheers guys. Not quite up to the standards of Ron's and Richard's dios but i'm slowly getting there lol. Using Ron's philosophy of 'free is best'. Trying to utilise locally found items around my cottage. Some things i have to buy but this dio is hopefully going to get some use, so i'll need to be as realistic as i can make it.

A good source for "trees" is a well cut hedgerow. Lot's of varied growth in a short length. Dried dead flowers from a butterfly bush make OK conifer trees.
If you need reeds and rushes, have a look in the shed for an old knackered natural hair paint brush.

Never thought making a tree would be stressful. But trying to add 'branches' in a realistic pose is a slow and stressful. Still it's actually starting to look a little like a tree now

My eyes have had enough for tonight. Long day on the farm. But it's getting there. The second and third picture gives you some perspective of what i am trying to achieve.
