True true Jim, Christine does a few hrs then gets back ache when she does any gardening . It's bending over for me, stand up and become dizzy then that's it . Felt a lot better this afternoon as I washed the gates , took my time getting up each time .Comment

The bench is a complete mess ( what did you expect ), have painted 3 thin coats the uniforms on the Germans ,and a couple of the Russians.
The reason for the slow progress is 1/1 painting .
Back door and cladding from the cave into the garden has been done completely.
Now busy sanding and preparing the front gates for painting .Need to do this in stages these days starting to feel my age :crying::nerd:.
The top frame is completed. Then it's the 12inch square up rights along with the front face of the gates .Spent most of the morning sanding the gates. After a stop for lunch I painted the underside of the gates with undercoat .The bottom had been treated the evening before with wood preserver . Now waiting for the morning to paint the first top coat .
These modern water based Dulux paints for exterior use dry so quickly, not the same for laying off with a brush as with traditional oil based paint . Certainly cover as well but you have to work quickly. It's ok that they dry so fast, and the protection is said the be 10 years.

Morning John, I Can sympathise with you on the getting knackered. Iโve been prepping a bedroom ceiling for repaint and finding it exhausting, more so as itโs been so hot and sticky down here in Sussexโฆ.. after 20 mins Iโve had enough!
Recently repainted some of our bedroom furniture in the Dulux quick dry water based stuff and was really surprised with the drying speed and lovely finish. Cleaning up is so easy with this stuff :smiling4:
Take it easy with your paining John, at least once itโs done you can relax by setting fire to somethingComment

Ah ceilings, much aching arms then. Remember doing the cave , that was enough .Nice paints aren't they . Love to the family.
During the heat wave we had a couple of months ago my mission that I couldnโt refuse!!! Was to paint the summer house!! Easy! Two coats job done! About a weeks work inc rubbing down and any minor repairs.

All is done , the painting , and the full clean under the carport. As the weather has never been a problem under there the clean looks as if it's been repainted .
Spent today transplanting winter flowering pansy's and doing a root prune on my bonsai collection. All native UK plants .
Hopefully tomorrow will see a restart on the figures .

Right, spent the morning sitting in the shade in the garden and managed to get some more done on the figures.
Using a very small bush I attempted to get the leather done on the uniforms, hard for me , but think I'll be able to trim back the black with some German uniform.
Russian crew have got a s far as having their head gear basic colour done.
Hopefully will tidy these all up tomorrow.
Thanks for looking in, comments and help welcomed .

That's a nice looking set of figures John. I'm sure they'll look great.
Too hot to do much here. We are away on holiday on Friday and I wanted to get the car washed before we went. Early alarm and started at 6.15 and finished before it got hot. SWMBO will do the packing. Last year I had to go out on the second day to buy socks - she doesn't trust me to pack my stuff now :thinking:Comment
