Did some more this morning, now waiting for a day to allow the pva to dry. Overnight the previous sections had dried, so have used PVA again for the Kappa line backing to XPS .
Using a drywall sanding plate fitted with 120 grit paper I cleaned the edges of any dried PVA , definitely use a mask for this as there's plenty of dust .
Once that was done, I prepared the XPS with a coat of normal PVA , once done I did the same to the paper side of the Kappa line foam board and left till that became tacky.
Still moveable at this stage, so lined up and some weights applied to the top. ( Other semi skimmed milk brands are available at different supermarkets.)
Tomorrow the crater will have a layer of Sculptamold, much mess I feel :smiling3:.
Thanks for looking in.

No fire on this as the foam would all melt :disappointed:Comment

Still working away on the base and the backdrop of buildings. Leaving any gluing to dry fully overnight so some things take much longer.
First the upright of the building, decided that a straight run was uninteresting so going to have a slight setback of the second part.
Taking two separate sections of XPS , approx 12 mm thick, this time in white I did a 45% cut, stops that line that you get when doing a but join .
Second part will be joined to the first .
Today cut some backing foam board a cheap one that I prefer for none scribing , This just gives the XPX a little more strength .
Cut and glued this to the XPS sections. .
Leaving to dry until tomorrow. Then will start on the cut outs for widows, The gap between the XPS and the foam board is for later when I show some damage . Joists to do as well .Might be some burnt sections as well !!!!
For Graeme C. , the first layer or of Sculpty, now dry .
Will build this up as required.
Already cut some stone sets that would have been disrupted , these will be painted later.
Slow is the only way.
Thanks for looking in, comments always welcomed, or abuse from the rabble.

Spent to day using the Patented Wibble Brick Scribing Tool .
Soon had the bricks scribed and having filed down a dental tool to the width marked out the widths.
After all this I applied a mix of filler to represent the render .A lot of it will have been dislodged when the building was hit .
Leaving it over night to dry , doing a sand first to give a uniform thickness. If needed a nother thin layer will be applied .
Comments welcome .

Nothing wrong with a bit of rendering ,like your thinking on it being dislodged by impact/concussion ,we recently had to re render the top half of a house the two sides that weathered the most practically fell off the others were a lesson in forgotten words and phrases only reason I mention John was the amount of stuff that needed cleaning up and showing the skip we had hardboard sheets downbefore scaffolding went up on top to make cleaning up easy but you'd be surprised just how much was on the floor so don't hold back on the dio ,I feel a often overlooked detail on a lot of dio's if the top half of a place caves in roof and all it fills the building up to chamber joist you never see that on a dio or if you do its very rarely. Still as usual keep up your excellent work and thoes small attention to details that make yours stand up above. DaveComment
