              Managed to get the base well under way. Will pick up some grout from Toolstation tomorrow.

              When I first did the base it was with black , then brushed some matt varnish on. Once dry sponging was used to apply the top coats.
              Pleased with the look.

                    Total awesomness John, this is cetainly a masterclass in dio building,
                    the details are stunning, (and you did that roof without the use of pyrotechnics ??I 'm impressed).

                      No Chris, the roof on the house was indeed burnt, but before It got hold of the foam I quickly doused it in water:nerd:But thanks for the kind comment.

                                Didn't get anything done yesterday with the grout but to day success.
                                After rubbing the surface of the sets with grout the surplus was removed by turning the base on one side and giving it a light tap. Then a pipette full of IPS mixed at 50 % with water was allowed to runn over the whole area. Once done a mix of very thin pva/water was applied. Now in the house in the warm to dry over night.
