I recall a scene from a movie where a character, to avoid gunfire, jumped into one like this and the bottom was covered with broken glass bottles.

Slate battens and paper slates. Near enough for me......and rough as a bear's a**e. For a jolly good reason!

My knees are getting sore with all this slating, so for a bit of a diversion and to please my good buddy Rick......

Lilly pads!....and a bit of duckweed too. I painted the pads with a small Turk's Head brush dabbed on to the clear plastic waater.

Just plonked loose on the base for now, so not quite central. :nerd:

Loving this Ron. The farm buildings look the biz and that pond looks very lifelike.
                  Awesome foam building skills!

Coming along nicely Ron, the pond certainly adds a centre piece to the courtyard. Paint next with all the damage? At least you aren't setting fire to it.......

Thanks boys. I'm chuffed you like the model thus far.

The thing is, I always build my stuff complete. Then if I destroy or set fire to any structures, I know I have more or less, the right amount of rubble and debris at the end of any destruction.

Not that I intend to trash this bit of work. That would be rather silly and a waste of good hours at the bench, now wouldn't it?!

Now no self respecting French dwelling would be without a Pigeonnier, so yesterday, I designed and built a simple structure and made it from foam board.

I really must read my wording before pressing the button!

I should also edit my previous post, but it's all good fun.
