The base is looking very good John, the reeds are very convincing.
Good to hear you're getting the problems sorted.

Question - most of us with an eye patch have a parrot, what's with the blackbird..... :tongue-out3:
Hi Wibble, I hope so as it's taken long enough.
Re the Black Bird, well I had a parrot, unfortunately 570 spanner570 took a disliking to it when it was with me on his sub thread. After wards the parrot made his way back to Aus. I still receive a Christmas Card from it .

Coming on nicely John. Figures almost there and looking the part. Veneer sides - I've seen that done by Night Shift. It's seems a great idea.

                  Thanks Jim.
Decided to try the veneer, as used by Night Shift. Easy to apply with double-sided tape. The thing to be aware of is the brittleness of the veneer , always sand away from the edge . Next will be the decision on the finish to it .
Those figures will need at least a day to do the final touch ups. Gets very tedious but important to get a clean look . This is where patience is a must. I tend to rush this part , then regret it later .

Don't think all will be possibly used, but good practice painting any way.:smiling3:
Note holes, well wires stuck in this time following drilling, once dries I sprayed from underneath black Mr Hobby, nce that was done a coat of white Mr Hobby sprayed from the top down.

Going to leave these to fully harden and dry over night, then some very thin washes of uniform colours , pluss all the other shades of brown you can imagine.

Much better definition where the black is underneath.

Exciting times here at the Towers, managed to get the tank on the dio, Id already done a thin layer of AK still water but removed the first tape .Having allowed the still water to fully dry I added some more edge tape and then sealed the edge.
Note the log supports, I've no idea if these were ever done , but it just adds to the look.
Figures have had the normal black and white treatment and a very thin couple of coats of basic uniform colour of Vallejo . Wasn't happy with the Life Colour, they have wide necked bottles and several that thickened up plus one had dried out. Sent for a AK 3rd Gen Russian uniform set.

When this is fully dry, about 2 days then the resin will be mixed and the fun begin.

Nothing wrong with those log supports… Looks like they were field modified by the troops. can’t wait to see the end of this beauty.
