Congratulations, Richard. The gold for "bombs away" was very well deserved. I have just had a quick look through your Belvedere build as I could not remember seeing it finished. My personal feeling is that it should have got more than a bronze, after all the work you put in on it.

Hi Guys, here are more images from the show. They are a mixture of Judges pick for the BOS table and judges own works...
BOS Table...there ought to be more as you can see in the background of the first image...
Judges table...
And miscellaneous entries...including my Kure Harbour that wasn't given a medal even though they had stuck a sticker for it as I had already won the Gold in the diorama category... wonder what color of medal did it get?
This BOS candidate has a story of a WAF looking out the window at a passing dove which is captured on the shadow of the suns reflection on the floor.
This won the Best Of Show award...a well painted 3D model with scratched rigging. The ratlines was the clincher.
Slowly sorting out the other categories like Armour, Planes, Cars/Bikes, Warhammer and Vignettes.
Cheers,

Great shots there Richard. The WAAF with the dove shadow is pure genius. I could probably build a reasonable facsimile of that dio with pictures and instructions, but coming up with the original idea is utterly beyond me. Every now and then something like this elevates modelling from artisan to art and I’m just grateful I could see it.Comment

Tim Marlow has it 100% right. At this level of ability, the originality of that idea is completely breathtaking.
On a general note, re. the figure painting, what strikes me is that the super-high contrast on display really makes a massive impact. That's one thing I take away from these pictures - not saying I can achieve such high contrast effectively, but it indicates where I should be heading.Comment

Wabble,
Congratulations and a well deserved Gold for your vignette, and not taking any of the plaudits away from those other magnificent bust/figure paintings, yours stood out as an original like the WAAF subject.. Again well executed and painted...
