Blimy a scratch coat first John? Joking aside is it a two coat render on that kappa board to stop it sucking in to fast and cracking ,can you not get away with one coat ,just a thought if you've got a piece of scrap try sealing it with some thinned down pva(uni bond )won't affect the adhesion but will cut back the suction . I'm sure you know what we're talking about. Dave
Yes Dave , ti's such a problem, of course should I use a thistle finish coat !
No normally a very wet coat of filler should go, I've mixed it with a very small pva before but this time it was wetter .
Time will tell when it's dry .

Morning John,
Nice bit of JR construction work to start the day. All looking fine, so let us "return to render".
Thanks John. ..
Just finished the render .
Sorry it's side as uploading diect from the phone .
Checked the plastic strip stock , think here's every thing I need for the frame. Luckily I have a roll of plastic film which should do for the glass.
Not the wait for the filler to dry.
Thanks for looking in.
Glad you got the kit built up ok and the gun issue sorted. For most of us the dio is there to show off the model but for you the model is only there to enhance the dio.
Already impressive building work. Looking forward to the rest.

Many thanks Jim, yes your spot on .:thumb2::thumb2::thumb2:
Building of the building looks good John.
Oof...! Very generous with the glue there...
Just curious, were you leveling the surface to get a good fit? I have the same kit and want to avoid this problem.
Thank God there are photos and looking forwards to the Dio

Cheers,

Wabble, it's the reoccurring problem I have. Realised I'd left a part off, having attempted to glue before hand the next section. In the end it was easier just to cut the damned locating tab off !
Can't see you having any problems with the kit .
You'd be surprised it has happened to me a couple of times but realising the mistake in the nick of time to prise the parts apart before the glue had cured. It happens to all of us.
Today sprayed the primer on the base
Managed to get a dip in the xps foam, just sanded and after cleaning stuck down the Kappa foam board, which has had a thin coat of pva wash coat to seal the foam and did the imprinting .
Once dried I can start the weathering
John .
