Hello all,
I was inspired to do a desert diorama after a friend of mine made one with the well known Tamiya Hanomag kit.
The tank is built "out of the box", painted with Model Masters "Afrika Mustard"
The groundwork is just a block of beaded styro covered in diluted pva with a coating of sand. Some of the shrubs are made with Woodland Scenic's "Prairie Grass" and some are made of frayed binder's twine.
I put a rusted out oil drum half buried in the sand.
The little rocks you see is actually chicken feed.
I hope this explanation gives you a few techniques to use in your future builds.

Happy modelling,
-Christian.
