Casualty of war

Some time ago i was asked to show how i alter my 1/16 figures, well i have put my other figure to one side while i try to work out how i am going to do the base.

Well here gose. I will start with the head & work down.

The mouth was drilled out with a size 0,3.5 drill and then carved out with a pointed blade to get the right shape, the same with the left eye just a bit smaller, i managed to keep the top eyelid intacted for better affect if you look closely at the completed head you can just make out i have managed to put a tunge in his mouth.

I still need to paint the chin strap & buckel and the face needs a little work but it gives you the idea.

I will be working on the body in the next few days as im on 12 hour night shift, will take pic's as i go along.

    Hope you like.

    John.

An absolutely unbeleivable level of detail. Putting a tongue in is the sort of thing that really sets models such as this apart from all the rest. Many thanks for sharing the build, this is really going to be interesting to watch it go together.

Hi all, just finished of the wall & put a figure in to give some scale to it. The figure is not the one that will be in this dio.

Nice base there John. Looks like you might of done a bit of dry stone walling in your life? Nice tree by the way. Have wondered about using a live bonsai in a large scale dio. I often find good 'trees' in old hedgrows. Boxwood is good-cheaper than bonsai.

Just started the body of the figure, i need him ti lean forward a little so the first pic is of the torso befor i cut it.

This pic is of the wedge shape i cut out tomake the figure lean forward.

Then i cut across the back the glued back together the front, this then puts the V-shape cut to the rear.

Once the clue has set i place mesh inside the figure to reduse the amount of filler needed to fill the gap, once this has set its just a matter of sanding down.

                        hope u like.

This will be my last post for this Dio untill it's finished and it will come with a storeyboard to explane the setting.

This is the right arm, i needed to cut off the hand so i could put it where i needed it.

This is the torso partly finished, the cloth showing will be painted camo as the uniform is reversible.

                          enjoy
