It's a good thing you waited until the temperature dropped to a freezing 30 deg C, Monica.

        small update off yesterdays work

the base has set nicely in the 30c tep so nice and baked a mix off garden dirt with 50/50 PVA/water

painted the 4 roof parts , the longest one has a was off green/brown to tone it down ,still need to rest with a few more washers

then add them to the stable with posts and face boards was things to use 2.5mm x 2.5mm for them

wreathed up the stable think i may leave as is ? any suggestions welcome

not happy at all with the well may bin it and start a new one smaller , do it 30mmx30mm instead of 40mmx 40mm

need to redo the stones with lite/dark grays to make them stand out a bit more

          Hi moni,

looking great, coming nicely together, maybe instead of a square well try a round well at 25mm or 30mm (875mm / 1050mm as being round, optically could look better in the overall picture because your barn is square.

          Cheers Richi

Maybe the well would look better in the same stone as the other walls.

                  It all looks very good.

I like what you've done so far Monica. I agree with Ian though. A farmer using local materials for his barns would very probably use the same materials for all his building tasks.

I will change the well any way just did not like it, maybe it will be happy in the bin

I will do what Richi said and do a round one, but as you have said Ian/Gern is so right to make it from stone blocks and not bricks thanks guys good idea

hi guys a small up date but not a real lot off work done

redid the well to a round one use a tea candle for the base of it think i came out ok,added the handle made from a cotton Budd with some balsa add

make the stable doors ,and added hinges and a latch, which i made out off tea candle metal pressed over a little bit off cut balsa and a nail and painted,

touched up the cobble stones and added the weathering

use a straw to make the guttering with and thats been about it for this one

always comments and suggestion welcome hope you like

just a little bit more done finely finished remoulding Sven, so he can carry the pig, and redid the guy on the bike so he is seen to be

holding back the tarp with R 12 on it ,hand made the tarp out off hand wipe ,its not that green but will tone it done,

and just need to fix the guttering and make it look old
