This is Peter Gillson's latest bust for his Sarnia Miniatures range - his second fantasy subject, representing a warrior princess. Once again I've had the privilege of painting the box art sample. Hope you like her.

Peter has done another crackignly good paint job.
This bust was inspired by a painting by Chris Achilleos - Eastern Princess
Since thef picture is copyright I used it as inspiration rather than copying it. Her armour is mainly Ottoman in style, including the unusual mixture of plate and mail neck protection.
She will be available from my Sarnia Miniatures website from Wednesday.

I'm no figure painter, but can appreciate your skill.

Thanks for all of the kind words.
Rather than my normal technique of oil paint over acrylic I'm using Peter's painting tuition blog as the inspiration for painting my version in acrylics.

Hi guys
I hope that Peter does not mind me adding to his blog, here are some photos of my attempt to paint the bust - you can see why I do not do my own box art!
I tried to follow Peter's tutorial and use acrylic - failed so reverted to oils on an acrylic base.
I tihnk I may have to refine the eyes a little.
Peter
ps - it is now available on my websiteComment

in the drying time of them.,maybe of some use to use,and I see you asked peter to pm,you,
