Hi Dave. Glad you like them. I have posted quite a few now, so have a look at my back catalogue if you want to see others. There will be some more later, but I have a couple of other projects on the go at present......
These are not from the high street, by the way, they are from a company called “Northstar”. They make quite a few figures in several genres, but the Frostgrave and Oathmark plastic sets are very good value. If you are after something more historical, try Perry miniatures or Victrix miniatures. Their plastic ranges are also excellent.....

Hi Chris. It’s hard to know where to start with a question like that LOL, it’s a huge field....
There is an almost infinite number of ways to game with figures, from the very large table (20 foot by 6 foot) with thousands of figures, to the really small (2 foot square) with half a dozen figures, but the premise is usually the same. You decide what period you want to play, historical, fantasy, land, sea, air, etc..... Find a rule set you like (again there are hundreds, from large scale, to small scale, and complex to simplistic), and paint/base your troops and scenery as required by the rules. Set these out on a suitable table, then play the game according to the rules. Random factors are introduced by the use of dice or cards, or other means are used. Usually you play against an opponent, but again there are many variations. You and the opponent can play against the game (a cooperative game), against the game and each other, just against each other (head to head), or as part of a larger group game with other people. You can also play solo if you are a Billy no mates, or in lockdown......
To get a visual idea, look at any YouTube video by ”The two fat lardies”. They do very good instructional videos for their historical rule sets.
Hope this helps....but it probably just confuses the issue....

Hi Andrew. Glad you like them. They are for the rule set “Frostgrave”, published by Osprey.

Hi Dave. I would say the Perry plastic sets are amongst the best around. Plenty of different sets to chose from, and they are all good. Their metal figures are great sculpts, but the casting sometimes leaves a bit to be desired. Once cleaned they paint up really well though....You can also buy single sprues if you just want a taster....

Thanks Paul. I find the finish depends upon the sculpt. These lend themselves to a clean finish, others, such as my GW ghosts (on here somewhere) less so.
