ID:	1243372 Hi All,

Here is my latest effort. I know this figure has been done on here before but ive decided to have a go myself because i thought it would be a challenge! Well, it certainly bloody well was indeed....you can see the roundels on the Spitfire if you look closely.

    Enjoy.

    Gavin.

Nice job on him. The blazer has come out particularly well.
Quite a joyful figure. Released as the entry freebie 80th anniversary tribute for the Battle of Britain at the Salute wargames show in 2020 if you weren’t aware (though you probably are because it’s on the base ?) . The show was cancelled due to covid, and ran at the ExCel exhibition Center in London a year later…..so the 80th anniversary figure was given as a freebie at the show in 2021. I did him as an SBS on here a little while ago, but I think it’s one of those threads on which the pictures have been thumbnailed. He’s a little bigger than 28mm though. I thought he was closer to 40mm because, being a kid not an adult, he isn’t full grown.

Thank you Tim. Yeah I think it's too big to be a 28mm figure. Was an enjoyable challenge. The familiar sombre feeling upon completion is now upon me! Now that it's finished I feel a bit, what now? Etc. It's hard to explain but it's an ambivalent sensation of satisfaction and melancholy! G

I know that feeling well. I enjoy the “doing”, but once the model is “done” I quickly lose interest. Plenty of choice out there for your next victim though…..

That is excellent. Well done on something so small.

This is a lovely little figure, and you've done it proud.

My guess is that most of us on here remember playing with our Airfix models just like this, in school uniform, more years ago than makes us entirely comfortable!

Thank you, that's very kind. I'm not the best photographer mind you, it looks better seeing it for real.

                        Regards,

                        Gavin.

Thank you for the compliments Paul. Yeah it's well worth giving a go if you haven't already, it's a one piece figure too so you can pretty much get straight on with painting it.

And yeah, it is a rather haunting reminder of youth! Where the hell does the time go?

                          Gavin.
