These are magnificent birds with colours that shimmer in the bright sunlight. I frequently see them near the house as there is a river and stream close by. The common ones are a strong cobalt blue with red beaks and either yellow or white breasted. The ones here have more pronounced beaks.
Primed this to see how bad the joints are,but they don’t look that bad. Still some work on the tail, but the side ones look good.

Never actually managed to get one of these but have always thought they looked interesting - having seen your photos of the 70's detailing, or lack thereof, not so sure now :thinking:
A good candidate for a makeover with the pyrogravure to impart some extra texturing
