Looking good Paul. Painting is excellent. It’s a preposterous sculpt as you say, but it makes me laugh because she’s wearing virtually nothing, but kept her socks on……

Very nice job on the hair, though it's a shame it punches up the printing effect

And I'm not just reciprocating your comments on the hair of one of MY figures from a while back!

Absolutely. I'm just accepting that this has been a lesson not to buy 3D prints unless they're of the very best quality. I could've given her black hair, I suppose.

          Oo-er! I hope I didn't say anything untoward, Steve?

Not at all. It was the Silent Mobius figures. You liked the blonde. I mean, the paint job!

The quality of your painting shows regardless of the figure's shortcoming.

I like TMM - NMM (like object source lighting) looks great in photos, while TMM never shines in pictures like it does for real. My favourite ploy with TMM is to minimise the amount of actual metallic paint I leave visible - less is more and all that.

This is nearing completion. I'm working on the snowy base, using multiple layers of Secret Weapon Scenics' crushed glass mixed into their realistic water. Has a wonderful sparkle IRL.

Great painting. I really wonder how the figure was printed. Sometimes such aliasing effects cannot be avoided at one point or another. But this figure is really covered in it. They really didn't do a good job.

Excellent finish, Paul. Anatomically maybe a bit off. A real skull crushing pair of thighs.

Agreed. It's frustrating, but also liberating - whatever I did to it, the figure was compromised by the print quality from the outset. So I felt I could experiment a bit, because I couldn't muck it up much more!

Lesson learned, though - good sculpting AND good production are essential to avoid disappointment.
