More great work Peter, I thought the first head looked good but can definitely agree with you choosing this one instead.

Morning Peter
The life jacket is superb, whites and lights are just so good when right but so easy to over cook,
Perfect receipe Peter.
Awful day yesterday, finished with a knee injection!
Looks like more of the same today and for the next few days too and work tomorrow!
Saturday working every 5 weeks come round so quickly!
Fathers day this weekend, perhaps the one day in the year when you might just get to do what you would like?
Ha, not a chance!
Have a good day with the uniform
Regards

Morning Steve
Sorry to hear about the knee - does damp weather affect it? Bit crook myself with a virus on top of hayfever/sinus trouble, hence slower painting. Working on Saturday is a bind. I once took a job managing a shop in Covent Garden only to realise later that I'd been contracted to work six days a week - end of social life till I got out.
I'm quite pleased with the life jacket. When I first painted a version of this I spent a very long time building up layer after layer of bright yellow, only to have it criticised as the wrong colour, which it was. More caution this time.Comment

Ralph - Glad you approve.
Jim - I can see the advantages of having a personal spare head collection.

Just the boots and extras to do now:
Not sure if I'll use the binoculars. The cap will be held in his hands behind his back, and I've made a bandolier of flare cartridges to wrap around his right boot. I've also given him a Dragon flare pistol holster which I've made a couple of corrections to. I will perhaps tuck the map somewhere about his person.Comment

Morning Peter
I am sure you will be very happy with how this version is progressing in relation to your previous one, I certainly would.
He still has the look of a business exec, with the muted palette and the sculpt, though explaining the life preserver would be a difficult one.
The accessories will put him back into his period, and another successful upgrade on an old figure.
As for the knee, the damp does bring on the aching, but it was explained that its the change in air pressure that does that.
As the pressure changes both as a damp front arrives and leaves, you can see why its what everyone thinks of first.
Along with the damp and air pressure affecting your sinus and ears, in the UK with our ever swirling weather fronts coming for every direction, its no wonder, there is always something aching.
Though age does play its part, as I mentioned to Bob.
Work soon, thankfully only one in 5, not every Saturday, a 6 day week, that must have been a real pain.
Enjoy the day and the paint and hopefully everything will settle down for a relaxing Fathers day tomorrow

Bob - Thanks my man.
Steve - The British weather has a lot to answer for. Actually, I've found it fascinating ever since studying meteorology a part of my geography A level - occluded fronts, temperature inversions, nocturnal terrestrial radiation etc etc. The knowledge doesn't help knees or sinuses though.
My main problem is pollen. Never had a touch of hay fever before the age of 50, then bang. I took the dog for a walk yesterday and came back with streaming eyes, a very runny nose and a severe headache. Is he worth it, we ask ourselves? (Of course he is).
Should get this one finished today. Have a good day at t'office.Comment

Morning Peter,
Just having a catch up round the village. That uniform and life jacket look superb!
I quite liked head number one until I saw head MK II....both very good but think your right in your decision.
I’m another that suffers from mid life hay fever. Never once suffered till I hit 40....what’s all that about?!Comment

Morning Peter.
That new head is far better, I can see why you decided it looked wrong with the first one .
I too am interested in the weather, my late father kept meticulous records of temperature's, rain fall etc .
Of course seeing Carol the weather lady is another reason to watch ! :smiling2: :surprised::smiling3:Comment
