Thanks for all your likes guys.

I have received my bases from my local wood turner. He is quite cheap considering the size of these bases but he never quite delivers what I ask for. Anyway it's close enough so I am calling these done and ready to go to the Golf Club.

      Very nice figures John

Not sure the bases do them any favours though - look to be different heights and the one on the right appears to taper slightly

I must agree with Simon I think they detract from your great work mate.

Left one looks better than the right one, but I think a marble type base would look much more in keeping with the Art Deco impression...great work by the way....absolutely top notch.

I agree with all the comments above - the bases are certainly rather poor, different sizes, and the one on the right has some badly torn grain. Those figures are superb though.

What a great pair they make. What's the occasion, end of year awards type of thing ?

                Thanks guys
The greatest thing I like about this site is that when you get close to a model you are making the comments on here always help to put an objective view on the thing. You are right of course about the not perfect construction of these bases and the variation from one to the other. i will be getting some brass plaques to attach to the front of each which will help to disguise the poor wood turning and lighten up the mass a little. I will need to look for another wood turner if I ever attempt this sort of thing again.

Colin the trophies will probably be used next year for our centenary celebrations. We intend to hold a 1920 style tournament with clubs and balls from the period and with the players dressed in period clothes. I think these will be used for the man and lady winner of the event.
