Nice work on the black uniform Jason. The insignia and awards really pop as a result.

Cheers chaps.... thank you very much...
Just dry fitted the head to get a look at what it should come out like.
Next it’s onto the left arm and the cuff title which may or may not come into being...the LAH cuff title is in a rather ornate script which could well prove beyond my capabilities....anyway I made a start by masking off the black of the ribbon and adding the white trim
The tape didn’t work very well but at least it gave me an edge to work on...
I’m not going to do any shading on the arm until I’ve managed the script as if it doesn’t come out right then the last hour or so getting the cuff done will be in vain as it might just have to do in plain black!!!
Thanks

Good luck with the cuff-title Jason - the sort of thing I can't do at all. I know you'll pull it off.Comment

Thanks guys... very much appreciated!!
The main torso is just about done now although as the figure leans forward much of the detail will be lost inside the Tiger cupola...
The head is also facing downwards so that’s not particularly prominent either...I did have a fairly low base for this but I think it would look better on a slightly higher plinth?
Thanks again

Some top painting , Jason!
The cuff title is outstanding!
And the goggles are excellent too- although I don't understand why in this day and age manufacturers can't include clear resin inserts or goggles at these large scales - there's an aftermarket idea for somebody?Comment

Great work Jason. really finely done.
Re: the goggles. It's something I've tried doing myself, but I've never been able to cut the inserts accurately enough, though I suspect that the 'done thing' among elite bust painters is to paint on the reflections as with the vogue for non-metallic metallics.Comment

Thanks all... glad to see you approve...
To be honest I’ve had this kit for a while and it was the goggle’s which put me off making a start as they are so prominent and would stand out if they didn’t look right... I did them fairly early on as I felt they were the make or break as to whether or not this ever got finished...
so far I’m fairly happy with it although I’m now starting to worry about the cupola as armour isn’t really my thing.
Thanks again

Just popped in to see how it's going Jason and I am staggered by the attention to detail on this bust. You have done well to bring the black uniform to life. The cuff work is wonderful. Keep up the good workComment
