Ralph - Cheers matey. At least that part is over.
Andrew - Many thanks.
Paul - A great bust and similar to Jason's Tiger commander.
Greg - I like painting Italian camo (or dislike doing it the least). I think I'll do the helmet cover in something entirely different, like Plane Tree.Comment

Morning Peter
Your Italian camo is superb, well done.
The helmet in another camo scheme will be a great contrast.
Looks like you'll have a good day with a little camo and some field grey.
The weather looks to be staying reasonably good with another cold snap next weekend?
Hopefully it wont be too cold
Nearly finished all the tidying, and feeling like getting back to my desk which is in a worse state than either the attic or the garage!!
I could be with the relaxation of getting some painting and building done!
Have a good day with the paints

Hi Steve
I hope you manage to get to your desk today - you deserve the respite. Glad you like this one so far, and here's today's efforts:
I got the legs done at least. I was planning to do the helmet, but a sinusitis surge is sending me back to bed.Comment

Morning Peter
Hope the sinusitis has calmed down?
Great progress on the figure too, double camo is such a fashion faux pas!! LOL
The attic is clear and the stash has been logged, whoopy doo!!
My desk now looks worse the either the garage or the attic were!!
Looks like another clearing up day but at least the worst is over!
Should be a good day to finish the equipment with all the bright weather
Have a good day with the paints, if you are better?
Regards

Paul - Many thanks for looking in.
Steve - The sinusitis continues; once it's there it can take a couple of months to clear, with plenty of ups and downs on the way. Yesterday was a down.
On to the gear today, which I should get finished. Then the base, and I've decided to use the one supplied with the kit. Hope you get the cleaning up finished.
Andrew - Thanks Andrew. I've got a bit of a method going with camo now, which is to treat each patch the same as a plain uniform ie. shading and highlighting it individually. It's easier to achieve with simpler, broader patterns like Italian camo.Comment

The figure is finished:

I ended up swapping the kit gas mask canister and water bottle with spares - as with quite a lot of the detailed areas on this kit those parts were slightly under par, making it difficult to get a clean finish.
Just the base to do now:
