Project to Commemorate the evacuation from Dunkirk

    Hi Guys

Here is my project to commemorate the evacuation form Dunkirk, which is obviously based on the well known photos of troops returning for the South Coast aboard the trains.

Unusually I think I am going to start with the bodies and leave the heads until last, so its looks like a khaki evening for me!

Amazing work Peter. You've caught the look of the professional BEF soldier perfectly.

        Hi Peter.
        Are those your own sculpts?
And........have you got a piccie of that evacuation scene you did on MM some years ago of the soldiers climbing into a small boat.Really liked that.
        Jon.

Thank for the positive comments guys.

Not a lot done today - spent most of the day In the garden, amongst other things I was turning the compost bins, not fun but it does speed up the process.

Here is my effort with the torso of the rear figure:

you may remember a thread about models we should not have bought and I posted some set of paints which I had bought over time but not really used since I tend to stick with Vallejo paints. I decided that I really should use some of those paints so for these busts I'm using this set:

so far i quite like the paints.

is this the one you were thinking of?

an project I did start was to build a number of little 2 or 3 person vignettes relating to Dunkirk. in 1/35 I got as far as finishing only one of them: a sailor helping a soldier off a ship:

the intention was to have 3 others: an rearguard MG position in Dunkirk, a soldier being helped onto a Moto launch, three soldiers leaning out of a railway carriage with a female soldier on the station platform. Perhaps I will get around to it one day...

                          Hi Guys

finally found time to return to this project after being diverted by the day job. I've made a start on the three heads. Ok so far, but a little more work refing to do.

                          next - the carriage door.
