    Neil,
You certainly are getting the hang of the painting lark, that's a cracking result.

It definitely works doing it that way Neil. He looks good.
Found the other way disappointing when you suddenly notice the boots were needing redoing still you were working on the uniform at the top .
Must remember when I do mine .

Great job with the figure it's something that terrifies me, I have only done one (not very well) but he is virtually hidden in the digger cab.

        Andy.

Thanks John, it really does help actually. And leaving part of it completely unfinished prevents you from fooling yourself it's finished when there are only a few little details to tidy up. I had to be REALLY disciplined to finish every little aspect before moving on . As I said I'm even converted to the idea of doing the face first now.

Thanks Andy-you should give it a go! Face your fears and slay the demon! The more you do it the less terrifying it will be

He looks great Neil. Nice colourful figure, and the fresh faced tones are excellent. Face first is the way I’ve worked for many years. It always spurs me on to do the rest. Interesting how figure painters always end up with their own painting sequence though. There is no “right” way to do figures, just the way that works for you....
