    Tommy's War 1/32 TW32S06 – The visit of King George V, France 1918

    This two-figure set ( https://tommyswar.co.uk/product/tw32...v-france-1918/) includes 1/32 models of King George V and a Field Marshall of the Staff Office, depicted as if King George Was visiting the Western Front. The figures are 1/32 scale and cast in light grey resin and sculpted by Nino Pizzichemi, box art is by Alex Long.

    So far the figures have been assembled, primed and flesh undercoated ready for oils. The uniforms have been blocked in ready for shadows and highlights, the uniforms are been painted with Lifecolors WW1 uniform set ( https://www.astromodel.it/cs45-unifo...esi-set-2.html ) created for/by Tommys War, with mixes been made with Scale75 artist acrlyics;

    Hi Steve
    Something very different. They look nice. Slightly smaller scale than your usual work?

      Hi Steve
      The "Tommy's War" figures are all very high quality and they do some really interesting subjects - I just wish that they had gone for 1:35 scale to go with some of the available WW1 vehicles or 120mm for display figures.

        Yep 1st foray into 54mm 1/32 figures. Kurt just needs putting on his plinth and the VC 75mm just needs one spot of red touching in on the arm.
        Have a couple of WW1 1/9th Busts to start as well. just need to get some grey primer then i can start on them as well.

            Working away on these two, happy(ish) with the upper uniforms, not so much with the trousers / jodhpurs so think they will be repainted in oils to get better blending. Spent some time on the flesh areas last night as well so they are coming along nicely.

              Following a post on planet figure and a link to a video on the IWM site, it appears that the king on his visit to France wore khaki jodhpurs, so it was back out with the oils to create a khaki shade. The boots have also been painted, only a couple of hours work - how, I don’t know

                  Plinth arrived from ElGreco (scale75), so cut up some coffee stirrers and satined then rubbed back tot he wood and then painted in the white ends. Drilled a couple of holes for the paperclip wire and popped onto the base. 1mm tape has arrived so can finish of the the straps. Nearly there now;

                    These two have come out very well. You might be tempted to do some more Tommys War 1/32 figures?

                      I have a RFC pilot and the Christmas truce duo in the stash.
