Trumpeter 1/35 U.S. Marine Corps. in Iraq 2003.

Thought I'd give me a figure fix.....Three actually. I won't be using the prone M.G. fella, as he'll look a bit naff for what I'm intending to do.

A note to the mods. Although I've posted this build in 'Figures', there will be a substantial 'Arena'. (Not the one shown) So If required, can someone move it to the correct forum please? (Poss. diorama) Thanks.

    Here's the box art.

I've used the supplied heads. Now't wrong with them as far as I'm concerned. In any case, a lot of the so called 'Replacement' heads I've seen look like clowns on wacky backy with inane grins and full ofbotox!

    Here is progress thus far.
Easy enough to put together and now ready for painting. The weapons are loose fitted.

Ok. First off the taxi rank is the 1/35 dude on the left on the box art.

Not on here, but a long time ago, I was the subject of some disgusting posts after I stated that apart from the lips and a bit of off white to the eyes, I did nothing else to the faces of figures.
Also, I wrote that I I didn't see the need to highlight creases in the uniforms, but I let natural shadows do the work for me. Again, I was shot down from all angles by folks who refused to take aboard and accept my point of view.

However, the members on this forum are ace! We all realise and accept there are different approaches to this lark. As long as we all work to the same gold - A model that the builder is chuffed with, then all is good in the camp. :thumb2:

Once completed, I just gave the whole figure a dose of watered down 'Dust' and let it all run as it choses.

I'm happy with my way of painting figures and that's how it'll stay.....So there.:tongue-out3:

I started with the lightest colour first and then added the next darkest and so on. Then, as I wrote above, I coated the whole thing in Vallejo 'Dust'

Anyway, here's yer man. Brush painted and weathered with Vallejo Air acrylics.

I don't know what you have up your sleeve or what's in your mug Ron, but this big scale figure stuff looks very interesting...If the T-62, in the background, has anything to do with it, this is going to be another one of the Ron, Epic builds........

                Prost

Sorry Al', no 'Epic build' I'm afraid.
I bought this set of figures cheap, so when they are ready, I'm going to do me a spot of re-cycling.....

                  Thanks for the post.

                  Cheers.

Talk to almost any 6 figure painters and you'll get 6 different ways of doing it. Simple or not, your way has worked here!

Thanks Dave. Keeping things simple means no pressure or complicated procedures to cause a sweat and spoil all the fun element!

                          Anyway, now there are two.......

I hope you will excuse this bit of harmless self indulgence with the re-hashed base. It wanted a bit of sunshine after a few years in the loft!

Next up the third and final figure.

                          Cheers.
