These are my RAF Liney's (flight line mechanics or groundcrew). It's all well and good building aircraft and posing them on a base but I've got to a point where I want to gild the lily a bit so I found these 1/72 scale groundcrew by Preiser - does this turn a posed aircraft into a diorama?
They are generic enough for most nations but I can see plenty of potential for RAF Liney's if they are suitably painted.
I've done two versions - early version in RAF blue overalls that will go with most Cold War aircraft and later version for post Cold War in dark green overalls with hi-viz vests. I'm really pleased with the Liney in the DPM goretex jacket - this was a typical "look" of the Liney's I worked with when I was in the RAF and just how I dressed too.
Once they are removed from the sprues I'll paint their hair and ear defenders etc.
