Glad to have you along John

Now the majority of the old paint is removed ive put the two coats on the parts I'll start with , if I was adding an acrylic wash I would have just put on one coat of base then a wash then a dry brush in the base colour but as I'm using oils it best to put two coats on then leave to dry properly as oil paints can remove acrylic if it's not cured fully

      Here's the pics

Nice to see you doing it Al. If Paul pops in he will pleased to see someone having a crack at it.

Don't worry Alan no pressure just enjoy and have fun we've all made mistakes that's half the fun I've stripped many a face back cause I wasn't happy with it.And you don't need us to tell you if you screw up as I'm sure you'll notice yourself but I have great faith and I'm sure you'll do a great job. I've completed about 18..1/16 figures and I'm still improving so don't worry keep calm n carry on good luck

Cheers chaps , I'm allready having problems ! I decided to do the face and what I do is paint the whole eye the colour the iris is then put a dab of white either side it's easier than white then trying to paint the iris and pupil in but the paint was a little thin and it spread so ive had to clean it all out and Waite for it to dry then start again

You don't have to wait Alan get yourself an hair dryer one of the best weapons I've ever acquired in the battle to get things done quickly especially useful in figure modelling.Go watch an eye painting tutorial on you tube I always paint the eye 1st with white mixed with the base colour of the flesh so it's off white. The iris and pupil could then be filled in with paint or a fineliner pen depending on the size of the eye but I always try to use paint before a pen but when you are happy with you work brush on lacquer which will seal it and give the eye a glimmer but be careful when doing this as if you use a cheaper pen the ink will run.

Two great DVDs here Alan if you want to get ahead in figure painting both highly recommended but if I was pushed for a favourite out the two then it would be with Rob Henden.I think John as these in the media section of his shop.I watch them back now and again as a refresher they really are a big help

Cheers John I appreciate it , I'm not too happy with using a hair dryer on resin mate knowing my look I'll melt his face , I'm not one for reading or watching how to do things I'm a sort of cock up builder and like to find my own way but saying that I'll give it some serious thought , thanks for going to the trouble to help me out with advice and the DVDs mate I really appreiate it
