Every time I see another of your fantastic figures I know I'll stick to aircraft
It's great to see your work and I do draw inspiration and even tips for some of my sorry efforts. At least I can hide mine in a cockpit and behind an oxygen mask and harness !
Hi all heres a few more progress shots, seeing as we are now surrounded by flood water i can get a bit of bench time
he left sleeve is finished bar the pattern, the left inside of the bearskin is done and i have started on the bottom part of the leather jerkin (Gambison)
Hi all just to show that we never stop learning, I have been posting this on PF forum and one of the guys there posted a bit on it to say that the creases on the padded gambeson should be pale and posted this picture
now technically this shouldn't work on a miniature as the theory is that the deeper it is, or the further away from the light, the darker it is. however I thought I would give it a go and this is the finished result and I have to say I think it works
I'm working on the Scale 75 medieval hunter and I had painted the gambeson a mid brown with yellow ochre and titanium white highlight's,I saw the picture and thought sod it I'm not changing now.
Back to your's I think you have done a good job with the change.
Moni leather can be quite difficult and yes i normally go for the same colours, if you are using a burnt umber for the base colour, try using orange for the highlights and blus for the darker shades, and for the edges try a flesh colour, vallejo do a set of colours for leather which i have just ordered so ill let you know what they are like
