Here we go once more. I almost hesitate to start a thread showing progress on a new subject as I'm glacial, as a rule.

The next job is to fill the gaps with Milliput, and make the rest of the lanyard for the revolver - that should be fun.....!

Thanks for the tips on straightening the sword. It's mostly corrected now (took 3 attempts) and I'm happy enough with the finished article.
My pride & joy WW1 Lebel bayonet (with quillon) has the slightest of curves to it, but I still love it dearly, so ultimately who cares?
That said, this is one reason I generally steer clear of resin figures!

Filled the gaps.
Sword blade painted a silly bright aluminium colour so it stands out more and I am less likely to knock it off.
We'll see about that...

That looks a really nice figure, Sharp detail. What scale is it? I assume the kilt is tartan? That sounds like a challenging paint job. Glad the sword straightening worked.

It's a 54mm figure from the Victoria's Heroes range that Tommy's War did. Apparently they're discontinued now, which is a shame.
Yes the kilt will be tartan. That's going to be an interesting challenge; did a highland infantryman c1914 some time ago and vowed "never again"!
The sword ain't bad now - I appreciated the advice on that problem.

Yes, it is a nice figure (got it for Xmas last year - that and the 'flu).
I use enamels almost exclusively. They dry slowly & suit my shading technique.
A few bits will be done with Vallejo acrylics (metalwork) and Tamiya Smoke (washes).

Nice figure project.I believe the heroes range from Tommys war has been taken up by Stuart at Stormtroopers figures.Looking forward to more progress.Ive had damn flu last week.Really knocked stuffing out of me.Hope you recover quickly.

After much to-ing and fro-ing, one end of the lanyard is on. Let it dry, then attach to the revolver butt.

And yes, that's a bottle of Vallejo acrylic, after I said it'd be painted (largely) in enamels. The basket hilt & blade of the sword will get done with this.

That looks very well done.
i use enamels too with oil but those acrylics give a lovely matt finish.
