Best Soldiers 1/10 'Warrior Woman' Bust

Time for a bust methinks. I have attempted this one before, and failed. My reason for re-ordering it was that I thought I would be able to use an Altores Studio Far Eastern head with the torso:

Wrong! Totally different scales, the torso being way too small. So, I thought that I might as well have another go at the head supplied and see what happens.

The bust depicts a female samurai, who did actually exist, fighting alongside their menfolk when the need arose:

This is what's in the box:

Nicely cast, with a separate pony tail and hairpins and two pieces of shoulder armour.

I don't have high hopes for this one, but you never know, it may work out......

Samurai (a major passion for me) and she looks like a real woman too- not a fantasy bimbo!

            Welcome aboard chaps.

It certainly is refreshing to see a sculpt of a normal woman - just try Googling Warrior Woman bust for a bimbo fest. She's quite delicate and elfin-like, but there's no reason why she shouldn't be 'feminine'. I'VE also run it by the household's 'Wimmin' and it's got the OK.

I saw some comments on PF when this was released (2015), and a Samurai expert said said that the armour was totally wrong, but that doesn't bother me at all.

Welcome Scottie. Her eyes are so large that it will be difficult not to make her look like a Roswell alien.

                          Morning Peter

Looks like a cool alternative for the paint brushes.

A random thought though, if you don't mind my input?

The other head and shoulders bust, that will probably always be an odd size, looks like a good sculpt from your photos?

I am sure you would have said if it didn't meet the grade.

The collar bones, neck tendons, hair and facial features sort of make it a good candidate as a stand alone bust?

A chance to practise just flesh of African skin tone from almost black Central Africa to an almost light coloured mixed race?

Whatever you feel hits the spot.

I'd pay $20 for a Day original, well another one to add to my collection.

                          Just a thought.

Looks like another nice day in captivity, and plenty to do

Enjoy the weather before the cold snap arrives.

I have some other distractions at the moment

                          Have a good day

                          Regards

                          Steve H

Monica - I'll give it my best shot.

Steve - That's just what I was intending to do actually - I agree that they are good enough to stand alone.

I'm not sure that I'm going to carry on with this:

I can see why I abandoned it the first time round - the face isn't great, nor am I able to paint it.
