Richard - Thought it was strange.

Ralph - Glad you like him.

Neil. Yes, I was worried about the positioning of the right leg, but having the musket resting against it means it's all fallen into place. Good one Moz!

        Looks great as always.
The backpack in particular is so sharp you could cut yourself on it

Nick, Tim and Jim - Very many thanks.

I've decided to paint the next figure in different colours. Still a Pole of the Duchy of Warsaw, but red, white and blue:

I'm still not sure whether to try and make up another head, as it would mean sacrificing the kit one in order to remove the czapka and collar. I'll sleep on it.

An excellent paint job and a great addition to the cabinet. There is a slight awkwardness about the pose and that is due to the fact that the hips and the shoulders are at the same sloping angle. With this sort of pose the slope of the shoulders and the slope of the hips should be opposing angles. The classic inverted S shape. This does not detract from a great paint job though.

                  Morning Peter

Very nice work, it all fits nicely and is really well painted, another success and a twin to follow too!

The alternative palette sounds good and the slightly altered Frankenstein'ed figure should be a cool counterpoint to this one!

Just the head hurdle to get over!

                  Enjoy the paints

                  Regards

John - Yes, the pose is awkward as often occurs with this sculptor, but hopefully it's not not too noticeable.

                    Mick - Many thanks.

Steve - I'm typing this on my son's laptop as our main computer seems to have given up the ghost. I've started painting the second figure, but won't be able to load pictures until it's finished.

                      Morning Peter

IT issues, not good, I guess the switch off and on again didn't work?

I haven't had a desk top for a long time, just a laptop and more recently the mobile, you get used to it eventually!

                      Final update by Tuesday then?

Its another fresh and brisk morning

Enjoy the painting and peace and hopefully getting over the flu/relapse too.

I shall have a walk out before the world wakes up.

I'm not sure if I am allowed to or not, we have had so many changes in lockdown rules it is completely confusing these days!

Hvae fun and take it easy

                      Regards

                        Hi Steve

The computer is completely frozen, so we'll either have to take it in to be fixed or go down the laptop route. As I'm using my son's laptop I won't be able to load photos for a while, so you'll just have to guess at the progress of the second figure, sorry.

                          Morning Peter

Hopefully you are both feeling a little better?

And had a good day with your Head No.2?

Did you use the kit head or a spare head and a little surgery to salvage the czapka and collar?

Its only 8 C here and feels very Autumnal.

Back to work again after another confusing weekend trying to figure out if we are locked down, locked in or locked up!

Who the he££ knows, but we are seemingly dashing into a 2nd spike without much concern, and no testing available here in West Yorkshire at all!

Have a good day with the paints

                          Regards

                            Morning Peter

You must be onto the body by now?

It should be another cracker and quite a colour contrast to the first figure.

Looks like we are speeding back into lockdown?

Boris on the TV tonight with the update!

Hope you are both feeling a little better

                            Hopefully a final reveal soon?

Have a good day with the paint on the last day of summer

                            Regards

                              Hi Peter
First you take on the dreaded yellow and now the awkward red. You're a glutton for punishment.
Hope you can sort your computer issues. A necessity in this modern world but frustrating in the extreme.
                              Jim

Hi Steve - Our main computer is totally kaput, so I've managed to grab five minutes on my son's laptop. We are going to try and get the computer fixed, but we've also ordered another laptop for everyday use, and that should be delivered tomorrow, so hopefully normal service will be resumed.

Jim - The yellow was pretty awful to paint with, for sure. I did start the alternative scheme on the second figure, but the reds I had just wouldn't work: they kept curdling and clogging for some reason. I therefore decided to paint him in the same colour scheme and mount them together.

                                They're now finished:

I decided on a change of head, so cut off the collar and czapka from the kit head and used this Verlinden bandaged spare, to which I gave whiskers and longer hair made from Milliput. The Miniart parts painted up quite nicely, although the detail on the musket was pretty poor, and overall I think the various kits have made up into a reasonably convincing figure. I hadn't realised that the tunic tails stood up too far until I'd started painting, so I put a haversack under them (perhaps his loot?) to explain the bulge. I've put the czapka on the ground in front of him and have attempted to show a sabre cut to explain the head-wound. I haven't done too much weathering, but have used pastels to dust up the boots and leggings.
