Thanks Chris-amazingly they all went well enough first time. Usually I have to do loads of retouching with lettering.

Cheers Gerry. I'm quite relieved because they are moulded on to the original Airfix turnbacks, but these tails are from something else so I had to freehand them. I've also noticed that the turnbacks are lightly wrong-they should come right down to edge of the tail , so I will have to rectify that with the subsequent figures.

          Fusilier 3 is now done.
I think I've got away with fitting the equipment after the event. Some areas could be better but on the whole I am happy. I will try a bit harder with the next ones.
I remodeled his left hand to improve the grip and I drilled holes in the cartridge box, which I later discovered were inaccurate, but who will know.....?

He looks like the BFG here :tears-of-joy:

Wow! Just caught up with this. Fantastic work Neil, your attention to detail is amazing - even the wooden block inside the cartridge pouch. Just love it.

Just noticed he's run right out of ammunition.... Better give him at least one cartridge :flushed:

Here are a couple of shots of the three of them together-'the story so far....'
I used my camera this time instead of my phone and the results are much better. The trouble is the phone is so much more convenient for uploading etc, but I think I will use the camera for the painted shots from now on.
With respect to those who know about these things, please don't anyone give me photography tips as I will lose the will to live.:tired:

                      Hi Neil
Another one of a very high standard. They look even more impressive as a group - work well together.

                            now about these photos.....
it's the close ups that are annoying me, when they get to full size on the screen
this is a crop from the phone

it's a bit out of focus but I think you can see the difference.
I'm just going to have to do it the long-winded way instead of the lazy way

The phone shot looks like an illustration due to all the post processing the phone adds.....the camera lens is much better at resolving contrast as well.....
