    Bonaparte Polish Lancer 1812 carrying saddle

    Superb sculpt from bonaparte Miniatures of a Polish Lancer, circa 1812, carrying his saddle, during winter. The body and head are cast as one piece with the saddle and accessories attached cast as anothe huge hunk of resin. The castings are sharp with virtually no clean up required anywhere and all the bits slot togeher with ease.
    A few shots of the completed item pre shaded (NOT my images);

    Hi Steve
    A beautifully cast piece. Face does indeed look cold and fed up. Lots of intricate painting needed on the saddle/baggage.

      Sweet! That poor chap certainly has the look of someone who would rather be anywhere else.

                  This looks like a superb model - painting can't mask a poor sculpt, but a good sculpt gives every opportunity to do something special, I'm sure. This looks great already.

                      Lots more painted since last update, hat, head scarf had an acrylic base then oils over the top with a AK ultra Matte varnish applied, Red 'coat' was base coated in Acrylics (using Scale75 Tube Acrylics, cover superbly when thinned with their thinner), Oils painted in - still drying so look quite glossy at the mo;

                              Got the arms and gloves painted and attached to the main torso, started work on the big lump of resin for his back. Bed roll painted, needs a coat of matt varnish, then onto the next piece of the painting jigsaw.
