Me 'at.......where's me 'at!!.......If you want to get a 'ead get a 'at! :tongue-out3::smiling5: Or something like that. Nice work on this John, I am looking forward to seeing all four of these guys cross the finish line.
Well I think I can call Athos done. A little bit of touch up needed on his hands/fingers but otherwise okay. The photos make it look as though there is paint missing off the back of his cloak, but when inspected with the mk1 eyeball it is actually a shiny spot on the paint. Anyway here for your delectation (or otherwise) is Athos.
And finally one of the two of them together. This is nearly the pose I wanted them in, but there appears to have been construction errors along the way as they do not fit quite as intended.
There you are folks. All comments and criticism welcome.

Well, seeing that the weather here has turned itself upside down, and now it is complete cloud cover, very windy and raining, my beach time has been knocked on the head. I am a completely certified beach bum, and have been since about 1955, but even I draw the line at sitting in the pouring rain. So I will make a start on figure three of the quartet. This one is Porthos, based on the historical musketeer Isaac de Porthau. This figure is slightly easier to construct than the previous one as there are only 19 parts to this and 8 of those are for the base. Here is the box art and figure parts.
he will be painted differently to the box as in the book he is described as wearing a "Cerulean Blue" doublet and a Scarlet cloak. While I do not have the exact shade of blue I have some which to my eyes look close enough. Even though it is easier than Athos as his legs are cast as one piece and his head is integral with his torso, I still need to plan the construction / painting sequence. Arms always seem to be sculpted in the most awkward poses possible. The first job will be a good soapy scrub, so off we go. All C&Cs welcome as usual.

I have finally got Porthos stuck together (minus arms, of course). Also the wall/base for him to lean on. I am not at all happy with the fit of parts on this figure, but will admit to some of it being my fault. The filler will definitely need to come out. That will have to wait, as I have to go to the UK tomorrow, so no bench time for a week or so.
Here he is at the moment, in all his naked metal glory.
He will have to stay like this until I return and then I will see about giving him some clothing.
As always, C&Cs welcome.

Hello all. I am back home after my trip to the UK so can restart Porthos. Thanks to Steve Brodie and Tworrs for their likes of my last post. I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to anyone who has commented or liked on this blog that I may have ignored or not responded to.. So, the first thing I need to do is clean up the mess I made of glueing the parts together. That is, plenty of filler and filing. The wall should be relatively straightforward and the figure only needs his waistline filling. A start will hopefully be made tomorrow, so until then, cheers guys.
John.
